Turf Club

Step into the Turf Club and step into the history and excitement of Thoroughbred Horse Racing. You are greeted with rich leather furnishings and Tiffany style lights. The walls are adorned with art that showcases the majesty of the Thoroughbred and chronicles the California Derby winners of the past. Also on display in gallery style are Hermés and Gucci equine scarves. The Turf Club is home to the "Lost In The Fog" tribute and memory wall. The Turf Club is designed theater style with a wall of glass facing the race course and lake turf course. The Turf Club is situated at the highest point at Golden Gate Fields, affording a completely unobstructed, panoramic view of the action as well as the Berkeley hills. Along with private viewing screens at every table, the Turf Club boasts over 80 flat screen, jumbo screen, and regular monitors broadcasting simulcast racing from around the world, as well as a close up view of the live action as it happens. We also offer live tellers and automatic wagering machines throughout the Turf Club for your convenience.
 
The Turf Club offers patrons fine American style cuisine prepared by Executive Chef Bryan Taylor with prices ranging from $6.00 to $21.00.  Starters include Bay Shrimp Cocktails, Fried Calamari, Fisherman's Wharf Crab Cakes, Grilled Artichokes, and much more.  Feature plates include Grilled 12oz T-bone Steak served with Herb Mashed Potatoes and Grilled Halibut with Three Lemon Risotto. Salad options include a Cobb, Classic Wedge and a California Caesar. The Turf Club also serves up delicious sandwiches, including an old fashioned French Dip, Fresh Garden Vegetable, Turkey Club, and a ½ lb Black Angus Cheeseburger. Dessert lovers can enjoy a classic New York Cheesecake or Warm Peach Cobbler.  Fine wines, traditional cocktails, and refreshing beers are always available. The Turf Club is open live racing days from 11:00 am until the last live race of the day. In addition to a la carte dining; the Turf Club also offers a “Carved Prime Rib” buffet open on live racing days from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm (subject to cancellation without notice).  On special event days times may vary.  Reservations are strongly recommended on all live racing days.  For reservations call 510.559.7390 during regular business hours.
 
Dress Code (PDF)
All guests including children are requested to dress in smart casual style.  Stylish denim or festive hats are welcome as is stylish casual footwear including tennis shoes.
 
We strongly discourage:  sweat pants/suits, T-shirts, baseball hats and thong style shoes.  Guests who arrive in shorts of any style, tank tops (sleeveless shirts), or clothing with offensive logos will be denied access into the Turf Club

Circle Bar

Located in the Club House, the Horseman’s Circle provides stadium staples such as ¼ lb all beef hot dogs, polish sausages, hot links, nachos, chili and roasted peanuts.  Specials include bbq pulled pork sandwiches, Golden Gate Fields “Signature” fried chicken, basket of all beef tacos, fresh garden salads, roasted turkey and roast beef sandwiches.  For early birds; a breakfast burrito or sandwich is served daily until noon.  Cold beer, soft drinks, coffee, and homemade pie are also available at the Horseman’s Circle.  Prices range from $3.00 to $7.00, open Wednesday thru Sunday each week and the hours of operation: 10.00 am until 9:00 pm for simulcast action. On special event days times may vary.

Tastes of Italy

Located on the track level, Tastes of Italy offers Italian style fare, such as: homemade pepperoni, cheese and supreme pizzas, large and tasty servings of lasagna, Italian sausage sandwiches, Italian club sandwich, oven toasted garlic bread, and minestrone soup.  Ice cream sandwiches, soft drinks, cold beer, coffee and tea. Prices range from $2.50 to $7.25. Open during live racing, and the hours of operation: 11.00 am until the start of the last live race. On special event days times may vary. 

Paddock Pub

Open during live racing on weekends and located on the track level, the Paddock Pub offers a full bar ranging from margaritas to tasty microbrews. Prices range from $2.50 to $6.00 and the hours of operation: 11.00 am until the start of the last live race. On special event days times may vary.

Apron Barbeque

Open during live racing on weekends and located on the mezzanine level near the wire; the Apron Barbeque serves up freshly grilled steaks (cooked just the way you like them), ½ lb hamburgers, ¼ racks of ribs and a roasted local free-range ½ chickens. Roasted peanuts, assorted Frito Lay chips, cold beer, soft drinks, bottled water, assorted fruit drinks, coffee and tea also served. Prices range from $6.00 to $12.00 and the hours of operation: 11.00 am until the 7th race. On special event days times may vary. 

The Carvery

Located next to the Paddock Pub on the main level, The Carvery features hand carved sandwiches (roast beef, oven roasted turkey or corned beef) served on your choice of bread (white, wheat, rye or French roll). The Carvery also offers a daily blue plate special, homemade soup, a fresh garden salad, homemade pie and fresh baked cookies. Cold beer, soft drinks, assorted fruit drinks, bottled water, coffee, tea and milk are also available at The Carvery. Prices range from $3.00 to $7.50. Open during live racing, and the hours of operation: 11.00 am until the start of the last live race. On special event days times may vary. 

Track Snacks

Open during live racing and located on the mezzanine level, the Track Snack stand offers ¼ lb all beef hot dogs, polish sausage, Philly cheese steak sandwiches, fresh seasonal fruit, nachos and carved turkey sandwiches. Fresh hot popcorn, roasted peanuts and freshly baked cookies are also available.  Cold beer, soft drinks, bottled water, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cappuccino and milk are also available. Prices range from $3.00 to $6.00 and the hours of operation: 11.00 am until the start of the last live race. On special event days times may vary.

Horsemen’s Circle Bar

Open during live and simulcast racing and located in the main Club House. The Circle Bar serves up all your favorite libations, beers and wines. Try the Golden Gate Fields Bloody Mary or Margarita, both are sure bets. The Circle Bar is surrounded by eighteen flat screens so you won’t’ miss a thing. Open 11.00 am until the start of the last live race. On special event days times may vary. 

Jockey Bar

Open during live racing and located on the mezzanine. The Jockey Bar serves up all your favorite libations, beers and wines. Try a Mint Julep a horse racing staple. Open 11:00 am until the start of the last live race. On special event days times may vary.
