MOOGIE WOOGIE GIVES TRAINER MCLEAN WIN #1,000

ALBANY, CALIF. – Trainer Bill McLean won his 1,000th race Sunday as Moogie Woogie skimmed the rail to capture race 5 at Golden Gate Fields.
 
Moogie Woogie ($11) saved ground under jockey Kyle Frey and forged to the front after finding an opening in upper stretch en route to a neck victory in the $12,500 conditioned claiming race for 4-year-olds and up.
 

KISS N SCAT SHOWS GOOD KICK IN CALIFORNIA OAKS

ALBANY, CALIF. – Kiss N Scat took the lead turning for home and kicked strongly under jockey Ricardo Gonzalez to win the $50,870 California Oaks on Saturday at Golden Gate Fields.
 

FAST AND FOXY WINS FRIDAY FEATURE EN ROUTE TO CEDILLO BIRTHDAY RIDING DOUBLE

ALBANY, CALIF. – Fast and Foxy regained winning form by capturing the $34,325 optional claiming feature for fillies and mares Friday at Golden Gate Fields.
 
After clearing on the lead, Fast and Foxy set fractions of 22.85 and 45.71 in the six-furlong race and held off a late bid from Dauphine Rose to prevail by one length.
 
The final time was 1:09.87 with Fast and Foxy returning $11.40 for a $2 win bet. 

CODE WARRIOR GETS TWO-TURN TEST IN CAL OAKS

ALBANY, CALIF. – Code Warrior, a close second in the Grade 2 Santa Ynez, will attempt to regain the winning thread Saturday in the $50,000 California Oaks at Golden Gate Fields.
 
The 1 1/16-mile California Oaks for 3-year-old fillies was carded as race 7 with a scheduled post time of 3:58 p.m.
 

LONG SHOT, FAVORITE TAKE SEPARATE DIVISIONS OF SUNDAY MAIDEN SPECIAL WEIGHTS

ALBANY, CALIF. – A 50-1 long shot and an even-money favorite won separate divisions of maiden special weight races for 3-year-olds Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.
 
Golden Gate offered two 5 ½-furlong events for maiden 3-year-olds on Sunday’s card. The first division, which was carded as race 4, went to Pure Comedy ($102.40), who led from gate to wire under jockey Joe Crispin. In race 6, Malibu Alex ($4) rallied from sixth to debut a 3 ¼-length winner with Ricardo Gonzalez aboard.
 

GOLDEN PICK 6 HIT FOR $39K AS MOGER, MARTINEZ POST DOUBLES
