Early Bird Opening At GGF For Breeders’ Cup Simulcast

     All gates at Golden Gate Fields open at 8:30 a.m. Saturday for the simulcast of Day 2 of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Churchill Downs in Louisville.

Sienna Sky Wins Sprint Feature, Krigger Has Riding Hat Trick

     Sienna Sky, responding to a strong ride from jockey Kevin Krigger, scored a game victory in the $35,332 sprint feature at Golden Gate Fields Sunday.

    Sienna Sky battled on the lead throughout the six-furlong contest for fillies and mares and dug in tenaciously down the stretch to defeat Upstairs Maid by three-quarters of a length.  Trapper’s Bounty, the 2-to-1 favorite, finished third.

Hollendorfer Wins California Cup Race With 2-Year-Old Colt Rousing Sermon

     Jerry Hollendorfer, the Northern California-based Hall of Fame trainer, won the $100,000 Bob Benoit California Cup Juvenile Stakes at Santa Anita Saturday with Rousing Sermon.

     Rousing Sermon charged from sixth in a field of nine to win the 1 1/16-mile race for
2-year-olds by 2 1/4 lengths over Motown Man.  Rousing Sermon was making his race around two turns after running five furlongs, 5 1/2 furlongs, and six furlongs in his first three starts.

Bleach Blonde Edges Lady Railrider At GGF

     Bleach Blonde edged 6-to-5 favorite Lady Railrider by a head after a long stretch duel to capture the $47,120 allowance feature at Golden Gate Fields Thursday.

     Bleach Blonde, receiving a strong ride from Kevin Krigger, came from just off the pace to win the 1 1/16-mile allowance contest for fillies and mares in 1:46.35.  Lady Railrider, under jockey Frank Alvarado, easily took second by five lengths over pacesetter Sis’s Sis.
