Exit Stage Left Heads Cast Of Six In Gold Rush Stakes

     Exit Stage Left and Unusual Americaine, who ran one-two in a photo finish in the Golden Nugget Stakes on Nov. 9, are among the six 2-year-olds entered in the $75,000 Gold Rush Stakes.
     The Gold Rush, a one-mile race on Tapeta, will be run Saturday at Golden Gate Fields.  The stakes serves as a steppingstone to the $100,000 California Derby, which will contested on Jan. 18. 

Hernandez Completes Successful Holiday Weekend With Four-Bagger

     Jockey Juan Hernandez, who won a pair of races Saturday, wrapped up a successful holiday weekend of racing at Golden Gate Fields by riding four winners Sunday.
     Hernandez won the first race with Mark a Star ($8.40), the fourth with Love Mobile ($26.20), the sixth with God Of War ($6.60), and the eighth with Anya Amasova ($15.20).  God of War was the only horse favored in the betting.

Look Quickly Stays Perfect With Win In Golden Gate Debutante

     Look Quickly kept her record perfect Saturday when she rambled to a 1 3/4-length victory in the $58,700 Golden Gate Debutante at Golden Gate Fields.
     Look Quickly found herself on the lead with Rever de Vous after the expected pacesetter, Sergeant O’Rourke, got off to a slow start.  Look Quickly took command from Rever de Vous at the top of the stretch and went on to collect her fourth win in as many starts.

Summer Hit Humbles Foes In Berkeley Handicap

     Summer Hit earned his second Grade 3 stakes victory at Golden Gate Fields this year when he steamrolled four rivals in the $100,000 Berkeley Handicap Friday. 
     Summer Hit led from start to finish in the 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and up and crossed the wire six lengths in front of runner-up Majestic City.  Fire With Fire finished third, a neck behind Majestic City. 

Trainer’s $100,000 ‘Gamble’ Runs Friday In $100,000 Berkeley Handicap

     Teaks North, a two-time Grade 1 stakes winner who was purchased via the claim box for $100,000 by trainer Eric Guillot, is among the six horses set to start in the $100,000 Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate Fields Friday.
     The Berkeley, a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and up, is the feature event on a special “Black Friday” racing program that begins at 12:45 p.m.  Post time for the Berkeley, the seventh race on the card, is 3:45 p.m. 

Early Post Time For Thanksgiving Day Card Featuring Appetizing Carryovers

     Before stuffing themselves at the dinner table, handicappers will have the chance to stuff their pockets with cash Thursday when Golden Gate Fields presents a special Thanksgiving Day racing program that features an early post time and carryovers galore.

Summer Hit Installed As Favorite In $100,000 Berkeley Handicap

      Golden Gate Fields odds maker Steve Martinelli has made Summer Hit the 8-5 morning line favorite in the Grade 3 $100,000 Berkeley Handicap, which will be run Friday at the East Bay racetrack.
     Considering Summer Hit’s record at Golden Gate Fields, it’s no surprise the 
4-year-old gelding is favored over five foes in the 1 1/16-mile contest for 3-year-olds and up. 

Trainer Delia Sees His Longshots Dead-Heat For Win

     Bill Delia enjoyed one of the greatest moments of his training career Saturday at Golden Gate Fields when he saw his two longshots, 18-1 Fantastic Atticus and 13-1 Minister Vivendi, dead-heat for the win in the seventh race. 
     Fantastic Atticus, ridden by Leslie Mawing, and Minister Vivendi, under William Antongeorgi III, both charged from off the pace to win the one-mile allowance race by a neck over third-place finisher Unusual Meeting. 

Summer Hit Assigned Top Weight Of 123 Pounds For Berkeley Handicap

     Summer Hit, winner of the Grade 3 All American Stakes in May, has been assigned high weight of 123 pounds for the Grade 3 $100,000 Berkeley Handicap at Golden Gate Fields. 
     The Berkeley, a 1 1/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and up, will be run Friday, Nov. 29, and highlight a special “Black Friday” racing card.  The field for the Berkeley will be drawn Saturday morning.

Trainer Diaz’ Winning Streak Reaches Five Before Second-Place Finish

     Trainer A. L. Diaz extended his winning streak to five races Thursday when Pure Trickin, the horse that started the run of victories last month, won the second race at Golden Gate Fields.
     Diaz’ streak came to an end two races later, however, when his 5-year-old gelding Hot Option finished second at odds of 14-1 in the fourth race.
