Golden Gate Fields Earns Re-Accreditation From Safety And Integrity Alliance

The National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA) announced Thursday that Golden Gate Fields has earned re-accreditation from the NTRA Safety and Integrity Alliance. 
     Golden Gate Fields, which will open its 36-day fall meeting on Thursday, Oct. 16, received its initial Alliance accreditation in 2010. All accreditations and re-accreditations carry an effective period of two years. 

Champ Shared Belief Works Impressively For Awesome Again Stakes

     Shared Belief, the undefeated Eclipse Award champion, completed his serious preparation for Saturday’s Grade 1 Awesome Again Stakes at Santa Anita by working four furlongs in :47 3/5 handily at Golden Gate Fields Tuesday.  
     Jockey Ricardo Gonzalez worked Shared Belief for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who saw his charge gallop out five furlongs in 1:01.

Gonzalez Has Riding Triple On Closing Day At Golden Gate Fields

Golden Gate Fields concluded its 19-day summer meeting Sunday and multiple victories was the theme of the day as Ricardo Gonzalez had a riding triple, Juan Sanchez a riding double, and John F. Martin a training double.  
     Gonzalez captured the second race with Jamison County ($14.60), the eighth with Quick and Silver ($23.20), and the 10th with Joylicious ($7.20).  Sanchez scored with Cleverly Beverly ($26.20) in the third race and Red Globe ($13.60) in the fifth.  

Golden Pick 6 Pool Must Go On Closing Day At Golden Gate Fields

Golden Gate Fields concludes its summer meeting Sunday and that means the $21,644 carryover in the Golden Pick 6 must be paid out.  
     Post time for the 10-race finale is 1:45 p.m. and general parking, general admission, programs, hot dogs, beers and sodas cost just $1 each.

Bound For Eden Goes From Last To First

Bound for Eden and jockey Dennis Carr registered their second consecutive victory on the Golden Gate Fields turf course Thursday when they rallied from last to win the $38,570 allowance feature. 
     Bound for Eden outran Loveintheshadows through the final furlong to take the 1 1/16-mile contest for fillies and mares by 1 3/4 lengths.  Loveintheshadows held off Luscious Lonna by a neck for second.  

Final Week Of Summer Meeting Begins Thursday

     The final week of racing at Golden Gate Fields’ summer meeting gets started Thursday with a seven-race program.  Post time Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (closing day) is 1:45 p.m.
     The feature race on Thursday’s card is the second race, a 1 1/16-mile turf race for fillies and mares that attracted stakes-winners Luscious Lonna and Sing and Tell.

Extant Improves To 2-For-2 At Golden Gate Fields

The promising colt Extant, who came from off the pace to win his debut, proved he can also win in front-running fashion Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.
     Extant rallied from fourth to win a 5 1/2-furlong maiden allowance race by 1 1/4 lengths on Aug. 17.  In Sunday’s 5 1/2-furlong allowance dash, Extant broke on top and never looked back, pouring it on down the stretch to win by 10 lengths.
