     Five 3-year-old fillies, including three with stakes experience, will match strides over a mile Thursday at Golden Gate Fields in the $27,000 allowance feature. 
     Niassa, who finished third in the $200,250 Soviet Problem Stakes at Los Alamitos on Dec. 7, is the 6-5 morning line favorite in the headliner, which is the third race on a seven-race program that begins at 12:45 p.m. 

Outside Nashville Is Prompt Favorite In Sprint Feature

     Outside Nashville followed up his very impressive win in the Oakland Stakes on Nov. 15 with a workmanlike victory in the $33,528 sprint feature at Golden Gate Fields Sunday.
     On the strength on his Oakland win, which earned him a lofty Beyer Speed figure of 104, Outside Nashville was made a 3-5 favorite over three rivals in Sunday’s six-furlong allowance race for older horses.  The 5-year-old gelding didn’t disappoint.

Apprentice Sullivan Has ‘Natural’ Riding Hat Trick

     Apprentice jockey Carson Sullivan recorded a “natural” riding hat trick Saturday at Golden Gate Fields
     Sullivan, a 30-year-old rider who is off to fine start at the 2014-2015 winter/spring meeting, swept races two through four while recording the first riding triple of his career. 

Wright Barn Off To Great Start At Winter/Spring Meet

     Continuing his sizzling start at the 2014-2015 winter/spring meeting, trainer Blaine Wright sent out two more winners Friday at Golden Gate Fields.
     Wright has started 10 horses at the six-day old meeting and six of them have reported home in front.  Wright even saddled the exacta in one heat when his 4-year-old filly Alert in Class defeated his 3-year-old filly Lexie Arleen in the fourth race on New Year’s Eve.

Golden Gate Fields-Based Baze Led The Nation In Victories In 2014

Golden Gate Fields-based Russell Baze led the nation’s jockeys in victories in 2014 by riding 324 winners. 
    Baze, the winningest jockey in the world with 12,444 career victories, has topped the national standings in races won a record 13 times.  Pat Day, the retired Hall of Famer who led the nation in victories six times, ranks second to Baze in national titles for races won.

Bellasis Celebrates New Year’s Eve With A Double

Tim Bellasis celebrated New Year’s Eve with a training double at Golden Gate Fields Wednesday.
    Bellasis won the first race on the rare Wednesday program with She’s Movin Up, who rallied from last in a field of six to score by 1 1/2 lengths at odds of 11-1.  Ridden by Juan Sanchez in the five-furlong race for maiden fillies and mares, She’s Movin Up paid $24.40.

Carr Has Riding Hat Trick Sunday; Racing Resumes Wednesday

     Jockey Dennis Carr rode three winners Sunday at Golden Gate Fields and none were favored in the wagering.
     Carr won the first race with Bella Angelina, who returned $7.20 as the 5-2 third choice in the betting.  Carr took the fourth race Monsieur Power, who paid $15.00 after rambling to a four-length victory at odds of 6.50-1.

Fast And Foxy Is Just That In Sprint Feature

The 4-year-old filly Fast and Foxy lived up to her name Saturday at Golden Gate Fields when she led from start to finish in the $34,499 allowance feature.
    Ridden by Abel Cedillo, Fast and Foxy cruised through an opening half-mile in 47.18 and then pulled away from her rivals in the stretch to win the six-furlong sprint for fillies and mares by 
2 1/2 lengths in 1:10.57.

Golden Gate Fields-Based Runners Win Rich Stakes At Santa Anita

     Shared Belief and Alert Bay, two talented 3-year-olds based at Golden Gate Fields, both won rich stakes at Santa Anita Friday, opening day of the 2014-2015 winter/spring meetings at both Stronach Group racetracks.
