Streamside Dominates In Sprint Feature

Streamside, the third betting choice in a field of five, recorded a dominating victory in the $34,534 allowance feature at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.

Ridden by Isaias Enriquez, Streamside zoomed to the lead soon after the start and maintained a clear advantage to the wire while completing six furlongs in a good 1:10.15.
Zehner’s Zenna, the 8-5 second choice, finished second, 2 1/4 lengths behind Streamside and a length in front of 3-2 favorite Solar Tex.

Streamside, a 5-year-old gelding trained by Sergio Ledezma, paid $8.80 after improving his record at Golden Gate Fields to 5-for-12 with a second and a third.  Overall, Streamside has six victories in 16 starts.

Owned by a large partnership group, Streamside earned $18,600, a payday that pushed his bankroll over the $100,000 mark to $107,825.  A bay son of E Dubai, Streamside was bred in Kentucky by Bill Bowman, Speech Partnership and Hurstland Farm.

Rain or shine, racing resumes Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.  Post time is 12:45 p.m. and the track is offering $1 general parking, $1 general admission, $1 programs, $1 beers, $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas.
