Stakes Victors Meet Thursday At Golden Gate Fields

     Four stakes-winners are among the six horses set to compete Thursday at Golden Gate Fields in the $35,000 McCann’s Mojave, a 1 1/16-mile allowance race for 4-year-olds and up. 
 
     The McCann’s Mojave field includes: Longview Drive, who in 2011 captured the Cavonnier Juvenile Stakes at Santa Rosa and the Charlie Palmer Stakes at the Big Fresno Fair; Mobilized, victor of the 2012 Tiznow Stakes at Hollywood Park; Battier, winner of the 2013 Fit to Fight Stakes at Aqueduct; and Irish Art, who in 2011 at Santa Anita won the Uniformity Stakes and finished second in the Grade 2 Sir Beaufort Stakes.
 
    Rounding out the McCann’s Mojave lineup are Pepnic, the third-place finisher in the 2012 Silky Sullivan Stakes at Golden Gate Fields, and Pepper Crown, a 4-year-old colt who has finished in the money in all six of his starts.
 
    The McCann’s Mojave is the fourth race on a seven-race program and will be run at approximately 2:15 p.m.  First post is 12:45 p.m.
 
     The field for the main event, in post position order with riders and morning-line odds, is as follows: Longview Drive, Frank Alvarado, 5-2; Mobilized, Abel Cedillo, 7-2; Battier, Dennis Carr, 9-5; Pepper Crown, Juan Hernandez, 6-1; Pepnic, Russell Baze, 9-2; and Irish Art, Leslie Mawing, 15-1.
 
     $198,609 Pick Six Carryover at Santa Anita  --  There is a $198,609 Pick 6 carryover at Santa Anita Thursday and fans at Golden Gate Fields can take a swing at the jackpot via simulcast wagering.  
 
     More than $1 million is expected to be bet Thursday into the Pick 6, which will be held on races three through eight.  Post time for the third race is 2 p.m.  First post at Santa Anita is 1 p.m.
