Sizzling Ordonez Saddles Another Winner At Golden Gate Fields
When trainer Aggie Ordonez saddles a horse, handicappers at Golden Gate Fields would be wise to take notice.
Ordonez has won with six of her last 10 starters, the most recent winner being Mary’s App, who captured the sixth race Sunday at Golden Gate Fields. Mary’s App paid $8.40 after taking the one-mile race for $6,250 claimers by 2 1/4 lengths under jockey William Antongeorgi III.
Ordonez’ hot streak began with a win by Stormy Sierra ($5.60) in the second race on March 7 and continued with victories by Runfasterelse (fourth race, March 10, $6.00), Rebecca’s Surprise (first race, March 16, $6.40), Tentimesthetrouble (sixth race, March 17, $28.20), and, once again, Runfasterelse (race eight, March 31, $7.00).
Fans will have a chance to get on the Ordonez bandwagon when racing resumes Thursday at Golden Gate Fields as she will send out the “live” maiden Some Kind of Ride in the seventh race. Some Kind of Ride has some solid works for her career debut and is 9-5 on the morning line.
Post time Thursday is 12:45 p.m.
