Shudacudawudya Romps In Sprint Feature At GGF

      Shudacudawudya, who finished second as the 4-to-5 favorite in the Oakland Stakes on Oct. 22, atoned for the loss Saturday at Golden Gate Fields with a dominating victory in the $49,692 allowance feature.

     Shudacudawudya came from just off the pace to win the six-furlong sprint by four lengths in a very good time of 1:08.75.   Hexbreaker took second by a length over Tribesman, who set the pace through hot fractions of 21.78 seconds and 44.26.  

     Shudacudawudya, ridden by Francisco Duran and trained by Lloyd Mason, again was sent to the gate as a 4-to-5 favorite and returned $3.80.   Owned and bred by Mason’s son, Brett, Shudacudawudya earned $29,640 for the victory.

     Shudacudawudya is a very consistent California-bred son of Marino Marini who has six wins, four seconds and a third in 12 career starts.  The 4-year-old gelding has earned $194,856.

     Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Sunday with an NFL/Dollar Day card.  Gates open at 10 a.m. and the track will televise all the football games via the NFL Sunday Ticket as well as offer fans $1 general parking, $1 general admission, $1 programs, $1 beers, $1 hot dogs, and $1 sodas.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
