Red Outlaw Ships In For Win

Red Outlaw shipped into Golden Gate Fields from Santa Anita and enjoyed a successful road trip, winning the $38,220 feature race on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Red Outlaw, trained by Peter Miller and ridden by Russell Baze scored a front-running victory in the six-furlong allowance race for 3-year-olds, defeating Preacher Roe by 2 1/4 lengths.  Pheisty Kid finished third.

The victory was the second in as many races for Red Outlaw, who was making his first start since he broke his maiden at Betfair Hollywood Park last June.  Red Outlaw was made a heavy 1-2 favorite and paid $3.00.

Red Outlaw, a California-bred son of Tribal Rule, was purchased as a yearling for $40,000.  Owned by Blinkers On Racing Stables, Red Outlaw earned $23,400 for Monday’s win and has banked $54,600 in his two races.

Baze had a riding triple Monday.  In addition to winning the first race with Red Outlaw, Baze took the second with Tiz Shocking ($6.40) and the eighth with Rodster ($6.80).

Racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Friday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
