Pair Of Jockey-Trainer Combos Click At Golden Gate Fields
A pair of jockey-trainer combinations clicked for a pair of victories Saturday at Golden Gate Fields.
French jockey Julien Couton teamed up with trainer John F. Martin to win the first race with Final Journey ($6.60) and the fourth race with Make It a Cougar ($4.80).
Jockey Juan Hernandez hooked up with trainer Steve Miyadi to capture the fifth race with Crazy Kimber ($5.40) and the seventh with Gracias ($17.40).
Jockey Kevin Krigger also had a riding double Saturday. Krigger won the sixth race with the Steve Sherman-trained Wild Cycle ($8.60) and the ninth race with the Jedd Josephson-conditioned Secret Jackpot ($6.20).
Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Sunday with a Dollar Day card that begins at 12:45 p.m. General parking, general admission, programs, beers, hot dogs and sodas all cost just a buck.
The feature race on Sunday’s nine-race program is the eighth race, a six-furlong allowance dash for fillies and mares. Hallelujah Trail, a 5-year-old mare who has won six of her seven races at Golden Gate Fields, is the 2-to-1 morning line favorite in a field of seven.
The 5-to-2 second choice in the race is Run Suki Run, a 7-year-old mare who brings a three-race winning streak into the main event. The 7-to-2 third choice is Logical Single, a 4-year-old filly who has three wins and three seconds in seven starts at Golden Gate Fields.
Rounding out the field are Seeking The Queen (10-to-1), Broken Silence (5-to-1), Crocodile Tuff (15-to1), and Hot Citizen (8-to-1).
