Pair Of $1 Million Races Will Be Simulcast To Golden Gate Fields This Weekend

     The $1 million Travers Stakes at Saratoga and the $1 million Pacific Classic at Del Mar will both be simulcast to Golden Gate Fields this weekend.

     Golden Gate Fields will present live racing Friday through Sunday.  Post time for Friday’s eight-race Happy Hour card, which features half-price admission, food and drink specials and live music, is 3:45 p.m.  Post time Saturday and Sunday is 1:15 p.m.

     The Grade 1 Travers will be run Saturday and the 1 1/4-mile race for 3-year-olds attracted a field of 11, including the Jerry Hollendorfer-trained Nonios.  Runner-up in the Grade 1 Haskell Invitational on July 29, Nonios is the 4-1 second choice in the Travers behind 5-2 morning line favorite Alpha, the front-runner winner of the Jim Dandy Stakes on July 28.

     Game On Dude, who has won three graded stakes this year for trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Chantal Sutherland, will face nine rivals Sunday in the 1 1/4-mile Pacific Classic.  Game On Dude is the 5-2 morning line favorite in the Grade 1 feature, a race in which he finished fourth last year.   

     Saturday is a Family Fun Day at Golden Gate Fields and the track will offer many free
activities for kids, including a zip line, rock climbing wall, obstacle courses and bounce houses.  Kids are admitted free to the track and the activities will be held from noon to
4 p.m.

     Sunday is Dollar Day with general parking, general admission, programs, beers, hot dogs and sodas costing just a buck each.  The free summer concert series continues with The Department Of Rock performing on the Trackside Stage.
