Moonshine Bay Wins Again For Hollendorfer
Moonshine Bay recorded yet another victory for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer at Golden Gate Fields, winning Thursday’s $34,816 sprint feature by 2 1/4 lengths.
Moonshine Bay has made four starts at Golden Gate Fields since being purchased privately by Hollendorfer in January. Moonshine Bay won three of those races and finished second in the Albany Stakes in his lone defeat for the ownership group of Hollendorfer, Marvin Kirsner, Al Morrison, and George Todaro.
Jockey Dennis Carr rode Moonshine Bay in Thursday’s six-furlong allowance contest and they crossed the wire in a solid 1:10.12. The even-money favorite, Moonshine Bay paid $4.00.
Soldiers Point took second by a head over Outside Nashville, who was making his first start since capturing the Golden Nugget Stakes last November. Hollendorfer also trains Outside Nashville.
Moonshine Bay, who was racing at Aqueduct in New York before joining the Hollendorfer barn, has earned $66,400 in his four races for “The Dorf” and Co.
