McLean Caps Big Opening Week With Training Exacta

     Trainer Bill McLean capped a very successful opening week at Golden Gate Fields by saddling the exacta in Sunday’s second race.
    
     McLean sent out six starters during the first four days of the fall season and recorded three wins and a second.  “The Mate” did his damage on the turf as all three of his winners triumphed on the Lakeside Course.  

     Fans of the McLean stable made some money as none of the barn’s runners were favored in the betting.  Letsgetitright paid $13.40 when he won the third race on Thursday’s opening-day card, and See Zo Go returned $13.80 when he upset favored Fu Peg He Rat in the ninth race Saturday.

     McLean sent out Visual Intensity and Renzo Sean in the second race Sunday and they finished one-two, with the former outfinishing the latter in the final furlong to score by
three-quarters of a length.  The 2-1 second-choice in the betting, Visual Intensity paid $6.40 and combined with Renzo Sean for a $1 exacta return of $10.70.

     Trainer Ellen Jackson also had an enjoyable Sunday as she recorded a training double.  Jackson won the first race with Pearloftheorient ($10.20) and the seventh with Central Heat ($36.40).

     Racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Thursday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
