Lopez, Romero, Baze Celebrate Presidents’ Day With Riding Doubles At Golden Gate Fields

     Jockeys David Lopez, Russell Baze, and Hector Romero all celebrated Presidents’ Day by riding a pair of winners at Golden Gate Fields Monday.

     Lopez and Baze both scored their victories in back-to-back races.  
   
     Lopez captured the third race with 3-to-5 favorite Hoosier Honey ($3.40) and the fourth with 6-to-1 shot Icedmochanowhip ($15.60).  The Lopez Daily Double covering the two races paid $34.40.

     Baze won the final two races on the holiday card, taking the eighth with 4-to-5 favorite Urban Hunter ($3.60) and the ninth with 8-to-5 choice Katieinthefastlane ($5.40).  The Baze Daily Double paid $8.20.

     Romero took the second race with 13-to-1 Giant Steps ($28.00) and the seventh with 5-to-2 Kilkenny Creek ($7.60).

     Live racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Friday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.

     Golden Gate Fields will open its club house and Top of the Stretch room Thursday for a simulcast wagering program that will feature action from Tampa Bay Downs (first simulcast is at 10:45 a.m.), Aqueduct (10:53 a.m.), Gulfstream Park (10:58 a.m.), Laurel (11 a.m.), Oaklawn Park (11:30 a.m.) and Santa Anita (1 p.m.).
