Lady Railrider, U R All That I Am In Action Saturday At GGF
The classy mares Lady Railrider and U R All That I Am will be in action Saturday at Golden Gate Fields when they head a field of seven in the featured ninth race, a stakes-quality allowance event that will be decided at one mile on the turf.
Lady Railrider, a 6-year-old daughter of Ride the Rails, has finished first or second in 18 of her 29 career starts and has earned $567,210. Lady Railrider has a win and a second in two starts on the Golden Gate Fields turf course, the victory coming in the 2009 Pacific Heights Stakes.
Lady Railrider is trained by Steve Specht and owned by her breeders, Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Williams. The 2-to-1 favorite on the morning line, Lady Railrider will be ridden for the first time by jockey Abel Cedillo.
U R All That I Am, a 5-year-old mare by Valid Wager, has 10 wins in 28 lifetime starts and $425,882 in earnings. Owned and bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, U R All That I Am won the 2011 Work the Crowd Stakes in her lone outing on the Golden Gate Fields turf course last April.
U R All That I Am is trained by Hall of Famer Jerry Hollendorfer and will be ridden by David Lopez. U R All That I Am is the second choice on the morning line at 3-to-1.
The field for Saturday’s main event, which will be run at approximately 4:08 p.m., is as follows: Summers Peace, Kevin Krigger rides at 118 pounds, 5-to-1; Bleach Blonde, Frank Alvarado, 118, 4-to-1; U R All That I Am, Lopez, 118, 3-to-1; Bella Swan, Aaron Gryder, 118, 6-to-1; Alec’s Moon, William Antongeorgi III, 113, 10-to-1; Lady
Railrider, Cedillo, 118, 2-to-1; and Sweetly Peppered, Juan Hernandez, 120, 15-to-1.
Post time for the first race Saturday is 12:45 p.m. and fans attending the races will have the opportunity to enjoy food from 15 gourmet food trucks. The food truck festival will be held trackside just inside the north entrance of the facility.
