Kitty Marie Impressive In Sprint Victory

Kitty Marie, the 4-5 favorite, made her short price look like a gift when she rambled to a three-length victory in the $37,283 sprint feature at Golden Gate Fields Sunday.

Kitty Marie surged to the lead entering the stretch and responded to steady urging from jockey Leslie Mawing to maintain a daylight advantage to the wire.  Power of Ten took second by a head over Dream of Daisy.

Kitty Marie, trained by Sherrie Monroe, completed six furlongs in 1:10.20 and paid $3.60.  A 3-year-old filly by Stormin Fever, Kitty Marie has three wins and three seconds in nine career starts and $95,515 in earnings.

Kitty Marie was bred in California by her owner, Shirley Ann Ragle.

Jockey Alejandro Gomez achieved a riding hat trick Sunday.  Gomez won the second race with Ziva the Diva ($8.20), the fourth with Hidden Passion ($7.00), and the eighth with Patienceisavirtue ($12.80).
