Jockey Alvarado Continues His Thanksgiving Week Win Feast

Jockey Frank Alvarado continues to enjoy a feast of victories at Golden Gate Fields during Thanksgiving week.

Alvarado celebrated Thanksgiving Day by riding four winners Thursday.  The veteran rider came back with a riding double Friday and followed that up with a riding triple Saturday.

In recording his hat trick Saturday Alvarado won the second race with Mind the Ladies ($14.00), the fifth with Excessive Fashion ($5.60), and the seventh with Best Verse ($5.60), who dead-heated for the victory with Flammable Boom ($4.20).

The seventh race featured a rare double dead-heat as Monomonac Playboy and Bertie Boy tied for third.

Russell Baze, who rode Flammable Boom, also won three races Saturday.  Baze inherited a victory in the first race with For Sure for Sure ($6.80), who crossed the wire second but was moved up to first when winner Solerina was disqualified from first and placed fourth for causing interference in the stretch.  Baze captured the third race with Miss Corinthian ($7.60).

Golden Gate Fields will present a nine-program Sunday and post time is 12:45 p.m.  The track is offering $1 general parking, $1 general admission, $1 programs, $1 hot dogs, $1 beers, and $1 sodas.  Fans of the NFL will be able to watch all the football games via the Sunday Ticket.
