Hernandez Rides A Pair Of 6-To-1 Winners At GGF

Jockey Juan Hernandez reached the winner’s circle with a pair of 6-to-1 shots Friday at Golden Gate Fields.

Hernandez won the second race with Urban Hunter, who responded to strong handling to score a front-running victory in the six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up.  Urban Hunter dueled on the lead with even-money favorite Compromising Txt to the stretch and then pulled away to win by one length.

Urban Hunter, trained by Ed Moger, Jr. and owned by Curt and Lila Lanning, paid $15.00.  Compromising Txt faded to finish fifth in the field of six.

Hernandez captured the fifth race with Just Text Me, who charged from just off the pace to win the five-furlong dash for 2-year-old fillies by 3 1/4 lengths over 4-to-5 favorite Steamboat Annie.

Just Text Me, a California-bred daughter of Old Topper, was making her career debut and paid $14.60.  Owned and bred by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds, Just Text Me is trained by Steve Miyadi.

Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
