Gryder, Morey Start Their New Year’s Eve Celebrations Early At Golden Gate Fields

     Jockey Aaron Gryder and trainer William E. Morey started their New Year’s Eve celebrations early Saturday by winning multiple races at Golden Gate Fields.

     Gryder rode four winners, including a pair for Morey, who had a training triple.

     Gryder won the first race with Summers Peace ($3.80), the second with Kilkenny Creek ($4.80), the fifth with Rick the Bartender ($3.60), and the seventh with Via Villaggio ($7.80).

     Morey, who teamed up with Gryder for the victories with Kilkenny Creek and Rick the Bartender, also won the third race with Visual Intensity ($6.60).

     Golden Gate Fields will ring in 2012 with a special Dollar Day racing program Sunday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m. and the track is offering fans $1 general parking, $1 general admission, $1 programs, $1 hot dogs, $1 beers and $1 sodas.

     Golden Gate Fields will present a nine-race card Sunday and also broadcast all the football games via the NFL Sunday Ticket.  Gates open at 10 a.m.

     Golden Gate Fields will wrap up its holiday week of racing with a nine-race program Monday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
