GGF Cards 10-Race Labor Day Program

     Golden Gate Fields will present a 10-race Labor Day program Monday and fans attending the holiday card will receive a free fleece blanket that features a classic racing scene.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.

    Golden Gate Fields is also hosting a Labor Day party for families that will feature many fun and free activities for kids, including pony rides, bounce houses and face painters.  The party will run from noon to 4 p.m. and there will be a free concert by Notorious.

     The feature race is the eighth race, a one-mile allowance contest on turf for
3-year-olds and up.  The 7-to-5 morning line favorite is Mark the Bench, a 6-year-old horse who has been racing in high-price allowance races in Southern California.

     Mark the Bench has finished in the money in 19 in of his 34 career starts and has earned $191,455 for his breeder, owner and trainer, Joe Brook.  Jockey Kevin Krigger will ride Mark the Bench, who will break from post position five in a field of eight.

     The field for the Labor Day feature, in post position order, is as follows: Bud I Crushed It, Catalino Martinez rides at 123 pounds, 15-to-1 on the morning line; Flyoverfast, Abel Cedillo, 123, 10-to-1; Unlimited Spending, Frank Alvarado, 123,
12-to-1; Cody Peak, Russell Baze, 118, 7-to-2; Mark the Bench, Krigger, 123, 7-to-5; Global Glow, Juan Hernandez, 123, 20-to-1; Premium Quality, Jesus Velazquez, 116,
3-to-1; and He’s So Stylish, David Lopez, 123, 12-to-1.
