Gadget Queen Wins Turf Feature at GGF; Mawing, Hernandez Each Win Three Races

Gadget Queen, the first starter at the summer meeting for Northwest trainer Blaine Wright, defeated Ms. G. I. Jane by 2 1/2 lengths while running a mile in 1:38.17. Sienna Sky finished third while Alpine Yodel, the 9-to-5 favorite, finished fourth. Dismissed at 6-to-1 in the wagering, Gadget Queen paid $14.60 after notching her second victory on turf in six tries. Overall, Gadget Queen has nine wins in 33 starts and $279,510 in earnings. Mawing won three races Saturday as he followed up his win aboard Gadget Queen in the first race with victories aboard Crazy Good ($10.20) in the seventh race and Only Top Money ($5.80) in the ninth. Jockey Juan Hernandez also had a riding triple. Hernandez took the second race with Getouttheway ($9.60), the third with East From West ($7.00) and the sixth with Red Hot Charlotte ($5.20).
