Early Post Time at GGF, $1 Specials, Flat-Screen Television Raffle Sunday
Golden Gate Fields will celebrate Super Bowl Sunday by kicking off its racing program early, offering $1 specials, and giving away flat-screen televisions.
Post time Sunday is 11:15 a.m., a starting time that makes its possible for fans to enjoy a card of horse racing and still get home in time for the big game. General admission, general parking, programs, beers, hot dogs and sodas all cost just a buck apiece.
Golden Gate Fields will raffle off a 42-inch flat screen television after each of the eight races. Sam Spear, longtime host of horse racing television and radio shows in the Bay Area, will have the winning jockey from each race pull a name from the raffle bin and announce the lucky winner.
All admission gates, as well as the Turf Club, will open at 9:30 a.m.
Golden Gate Fields will employ the standard 12:45 p.m. post time for its racing programs Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
