Dual Carryovers Thursday At Golden Gate Fields

     The racing week at Golden Gate Fields begins Thursday with carryovers in both the Pick 5 and Pick 6.

     The 50-cent Pick 5, which challenges handicappers to pick the winners of the last five races on the program, has a carryover of $35,888.  There is a carryover of $26,583 in the Pick Six, a $2 wager in which bettors try to pick the winners of the last six races on the card.

     Golden Gate Fields will present a seven-race card Thursday, meaning races three through seven will makeup the Pick 5 sequence and races two through seven will makeup the Pick 6.

      Following are the top two selections in the Golden Gate Fields House Handicap for races two through seven: #6 Olympic Savage (10-1 on the morning line) and #4 Dynavixen (Even) in race two; #2 The Perfect Lemon (2-1) and #5 Unmatched Force
(9-2) in the race three; #1 Dancing Yodeler (6-1) and #7 Cahill Report (4-1) in race four; #8 Gothamcityslicker (6-1) and #3 Drewthetiger (8-5) in race five; #3 Falling Knife (2-1) and #2 C C’s Diamond (6-1) in race six; and #3 Hard To Be Humble (9-2) and #9 Life Is A Rock (9-2) in race seven.

     Gates open at 10 a.m. and post time is 12:45 p.m.  The Pick 6 will get underway at approximately 1:15 p.m. (post time for race two) and the Pick 5 at approximately
1:45 p.m. (post time for race three).

     Important Derby Preps Saturday --  Two major Kentucky Derby prep races, the
$1 million Arkansas Derby at Oaklawn Park and the $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes at Keeneland, will be simulcast to Golden Gate Fields Saturday.  Both races will be run at 1 1/8-miles.

     War Academy, a promising colt from the Bob Baffert barn, is the 2-1 morning line favorite in the Arkansas Derby, which attracted a field of 10.  War Academy is coming off a dominating victory in a 1 1/16-mile allowance race at Santa Anita.

     A full field of 14, plus an also eligible, was entered in the Blue Grass Stakes.     Uncaptured, a colt who has already won five stakes, is the 7-2 morning line favorite in a wide open race.
