Carr Rides Four Winners At Golden Gate Fields
Jockey Dennis Carr won four of the first five races contested at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.
Carr took the first race with Life Is a Stone ($6.00), the third with Nancypeggy ($5.20), the fourth with Alexander’s Band ($5.60), and the fifth with Aiming Fluid ($6.60).
Carr has won 64 races at the 2012-2013 winter/spring meeting and is second in the jockey standings to Russell Baze, who has 80 victories.
Jockey Frank Alvarado, third in the standings with 41 wins, had a riding double Saturday. Alvarado won the second race with Battling Atticus ($5.00) and the seventh with An App for Abbie ($17.40).
Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Sunday. Post time is 12:45 p.m. and general parking, general admission, programs, beers, hot dogs, and sodas cost just $1 each.
