Breeders’ Cup Simulcasts, Debutante Stakes Highlight Racing Week At Golden Gate Fields

 

     The simulcast of the Breeders’ Cup World Championships from Churchill Downs in Louisville and the $50,000 Golden Gate Debutante will highlight the action at Golden Gate Fields this week. 
 
    Golden Gate Fields will host live racing Thursday through Sunday and simulcast the entire Breeders’ Cup cards Friday and Saturday, when there are special post times and gate openings. 
 
     On Friday, general admission and club house gates open at 10 a.m.; the Turf Club at 11 a.m.  Post time for first race at Churchill is 11 a.m. and post time at Golden Gate Fields is 12:35 p.m.  Saturday, all gates open at 8:30 a.m. and post time for the first race at Churchill is 9:05 a.m.  First post at Golden Gate Fields is 10:55 a.m.
 
     The post time schedule for the six Breeders’ Cup races on Friday is as follows: $500,000 Juvenile Sprint, 1:10 p.m.; $1 million Juvenile Fillies Turf, 1:50 p.m.; 
$1 million Filly and Mare Sprint, 2:30 p.m.; $2 million Juvenile Fillies, 3:10 p.m.;
$2 million Filly and Mare Turf, 3:50 p.m.; and $2 million Ladies’ Classic, 4:30 p.m.
 
    The post time schedule for the nine Breeders’ Cup races on Saturday is as follows: $500,000 Marathon, 10:20 a.m.; $1 million Juvenile Turf, 11:02 a.m.; $1.5 million Sprint, 11:37 a.m.; $1 million Turf Sprint, 12:21 p.m.; $1 million Dirt Mile, 1:01 p.m.; $3 million Turf, 1:45 p.m.; $2 million Juvenile, 2:25 p.m.; $2 million Mile, 3:07 p.m., and $5 million Classic, 4 p.m.  
 
     Golden Gate Fields will present 10 races Saturday and the Golden Gate Debutante, a six-furlong sprint for 2-year-old fillies, is the ninth race on the program.  Power of Nine, who captured the Wine Country Debutante at Santa Rosa, heads of field of seven in the Golden Gate Debutante. 
 
     The field for the Golden Gate Debutante, in post position order, is as follows: Eva’s Joy, Juan Hernandez rides; Katie’s Ten, Russell Baze; Century Union, Inoel Beato; I’m Tops, Aaron Gryder; Power of Nine, Abel Cedillo; Lady of Fifty, Kevin Krigger; and Purple Starduster, Catalino Martinez.  All of the fillies carry 120 pounds. 
 
     Golden Gate Fields’ cards on Thursday and Sunday will start at the normal post time, 12:45 p.m.
