Bettors Pump Record $633,446 Into Pick 5 At Golden Gate Fields

Bettors Pump Record $633,446 Into Pick 5 At Golden Gate Fields

Spurred by a carryover of $149,941, bettors pumped a record $633,446 into the Pick 5 pool Thursday at Golden Gate Fields.

A 50-cent bet, the Pick 5 requires handicappers to pick the winners of the final five races on the card.  A perfect Pick 5 ticket eluded punters last weekend, setting up Thursday’s attractive carryover.

After having three days to study past performance lines, handicappers figured to attack the Pick 5 with a vengeance and they didn’t disappoint.  Fans that correctly selected the winners of races three through seven Thursday received a payoff of $1,102.85 for each winning 50-cent ticket, of which there were 630.

The winners in the Pick 5 sequence were Myeyesonyou ($7.20), Irene’s Cherub ($28.40), All About Adam ($8.40), Hollanita ($4.00), and Some Kind of Ride ($5.00).

Trainer Aggie Ordonez continued her winning ways Thursday when she took the seventh race Some Kind of Ride, a first-time starter who romped home by seven lengths in a 5 1/2-furlong maiden claiming dash.  Ordonez has now won with seven of her last 11 starters.

Racing continues Friday at Golden Gate Fields.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
