Baze Wins Three Races at GGF Three Others Win a Pair

Jockey Russell Baze won three races at Golden Gate Fields Friday, a day in which multiple victories was the theme of the afternoon.

While Baze enjoyed a riding hat trick, jockeys Juan Hernandez and Leslie Mawing posted riding doubles.  Not wanting to be left out, trainer Jerry Hollendorfer saddled a pair of winners.

Baze scored back-to-back victories when he captured the fourth race with A Star Is Here ($4.00) and the fifth with Surefire ($10.20).  The Hall of Famer completed his triple with a victory aboard Camila Cabaletta ($9.80) in the eighth and final race.

Hernandez won the first race with Rosemount Lad ($6.60) and the sixth with Red Hot Charlotte ($5.40).  Mawing took the second race aboard Grand Maneuver ($11.20) and the seventh with Meshuguna ($5.40).

Hollendorfer teamed with Baze for the victory with Surefire in the fifth race and with Mawing for the score with Meshuguna in the seventh.

Golden Gate Fields will present a nine-race card Saturday and fans attending the track will receive a free GGF umbrella.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
