Baze, Schvaneveldt, Romero All Ride Pair Of Winners

     Jockeys Russell Baze, Chad Schvaneveldt, and Hector Romero all rode a pair of winners at Golden Gate Fields Thursday.  

     Baze, who long ago wrapped up his 39th career riding championship at Golden Gate Fields, won the first race with High Brite Cielo ($7.80) and the fourth with Wild and Gotaway ($5.00).  Baze leads his colleagues with 69 victories heading into the final three days of the fall meeting.

     Schvaneveldt, the second-leading rider at the meeting with 34 wins, took the second race with Rock Solid King ($4.00) and the sixth with Swiss Ski ($3.80).  

     Romero, who moved into eighth place in the standings with his riding double, won the fifth race with Lama Chant ($14.80) and the seventh with Marine Fog ($18.00).  Romero has 16 victories at the meeting.

     Golden Gate Fields will wrap up its fall meeting with an eight-race card on Friday and nine-race programs on Saturday and Sunday.  Post time each day is 12:45 p.m.
