Baze Rides Four Winners At Golden Gate Fields

     Leading jockey Russell Baze rode four winners Friday afternoon at Golden Gate Fields.

     Baze won the first race with 4-5 favorite Apollo Ten ($3.80), the fourth with 9-5 second choice Massimo ($5.60), the seventh with 2-1 second choice Our Cognac Kid ($6.20) and the eighth with 3-2 favorite Cool Toddy ($5.00).

     Baze, who leads his colleagues with 26 victories through 15 days of racing at the 2012-2013 winter/spring meeting, has six mounts on Saturday’s nine-race card.  Three of Baze’s horses are favored on the morning line – Forbidden City (6-5) in the third race, Good Mojo (8-5) in the fourth, and Russdiculous (4-5) in the eighth.

     Trainer Jedd Josephson and jockey Julien Couton both won back-to-back races Friday.

     Josephson saddled the early Daily Double, winning the first race with Apollo Ten and the second with Divas and Diamonds ($5.60).  The $2 Josephson Double paid $16.40.

     Couton, sixth in the jockey standings with eight victories, won the fifth race with Alberta Breeze ($8.20) and the sixth with Imblendednotshaken ($6.00).

     Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Saturday, Sunday and Monday, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.  Post time is 12:45 p.m. each day.
