Baze Records Another Multiple Win Day At Golden Gate Fields
Three days off didn’t break Russell Baze’s momentum as the Hall of Fame jockey won two races Thursday when Golden Gate Fields kicked off a new racing week.
The riding double extended Baze’s streak of consecutive multiple-victory days to four. Baze won four races last Friday and then recorded back-to-back riding triples on Saturday and Sunday.
Baze scored Thursday with Lovely Daughter ($5.20) in the first race and Exotic Slew ($4.40) in the sixth. A runaway leader in the Golden Gate Fields jockey standings, Baze has won 125 races at the winter/spring meeting.
Jockey Juan Hernandez also won a pair of races Thursday. Hernandez took the fourth race with Easy Goes By ($8.00) and the seventh with Last Sting ($11.00). Hernandez is fourth in the rider standings with 55 wins.
McGaughey To Guest On ‘At The Track’ – Shug McGaughey, the Hall of Fame trainer who captured the 139th Kentucky Derby with Orb last Saturday, will be the featured guest on the horse racing radio show “At The Track” this Sunday.
Hosted by Sam Spear, “At The Track” airs from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. on KNBR (680 AM).
