Baze, Krigger, Cedillo, Sherman All Win A Pair Of Races At GGF

     Veteran jockeys Russell Baze and Kevin Krigger, apprentice rider Abel Cedillo, and trainer Steve Sherman all won a pair of races at Golden Gate Fields Sunday.  

     Baze took the first race with 1-5 favorite Anniversary Girl ($2.40) and the sixth race with 9-5 second choice Sports Edition ($5.60).  Baze leads all riders at the 2010-2011 winter/spring meeting with 125 victories.

     Krigger, who won three races Saturday, recorded a riding double Sunday when he captured the seventh race with Country Gold ($8.00) and the eighth with Dark Dolores ($24.20).  Krigger ranks third in the jockey standings with 52 wins.

     Cedillo and Sherman teamed up for their victories, taking the second race with Tallahsocean ($4.00) and the ninth with Jimbo’s Bimbo ($6.60).  Cedillo is the leading apprentice rider at the meeting with 21 wins and is 12th in the overall standings.  Sherman is the second-leading trainer at Golden Gate Fields with 61 victories.

      Live racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Thursday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
