Baze Finishes Racing Week With Another Multiple-Victory Day

Jockey Russell Baze completed a very successful racing week at Golden Gate Fields by riding three winners Sunday.

Baze, who won four races Wednesday and three races on Thursday, scored Sunday with Katieinthefastlane ($5.80) in the first race, Megaspiel ($3.40) in the fourth and Cat Calloway ($4.00) in the ninth.

Katieinthefastlane and Cat Calloway are both trained by Steve Sherman, one of two trainers to saddle a pair of winners Sunday.  William J. Morey, Jr. also had a training double as he won the third race with Roman Lady ($6.60) and the sixth with Cazadero ($8.80).

Apprentice jockey Abel Cedillo, who rode three winners Friday, posted two more wins Sunday.  Cedillo took the fifth race with Causeuirritateme ($15.80) and the seventh with Battle Lou ($12.20).

There is no live racing at Golden Gate Fields Wednesday, however, the track will be open for simulcast wagering on action from the following tracks: Churchill Downs (races 3-10), Aqueduct (races 4-9), Laurel (races 4-9), Hawthorne (races 1-9), Portland Meadows (races 1-9), Penn National (races 1-3), and Woodbine (races 1-2).  Club House gates open at 10 a.m.

Live racing will resume Thursday when Golden Gate Fields presents a special Thanksgiving Day program.  The eight-race holiday card will begin early – post time is 11:15 a.m. – so fans can attend the races and still get home in time for the Thanksgiving Day feast.
