Baze Celebrates Easter Sunday By Riding Five Winners At GGF

Jockey Russell Baze celebrated Easter Sunday by riding five winners at Golden Gate Fields.

The Easter program got off to a rough start for Baze, who finished third aboard 1-to-5 favorite Sammy Choi in the first race.  Baze quickly rebounded, however, sweeping races two through five.

Baze won the second race with Three for Marino ($3.00), the third with Hope I Do ($10.40), the fourth with Diamond Touch ($3.00), and the fifth with Baron’s Gold ($2.60).

Baze sat out the sixth race and then reported right back to the winner’s circle after guiding Fourteenkaratrita ($9.60) to a front-running victory in the seventh race.

Jerry Hollendorfer had a training triple Sunday.  Hollendorfer teamed with Baze for the victories with Three for Marino and Diamond Touch and then completed his hat trick when Cody Peak ($10.80) won the eighth race under jockey Frank Alvarado.

Racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Thursday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
