Baze Bounces Back With Four-Win Saturday at GGF

Jockey Russell Baze, who failed to reach the winner’s circle with three heavily-bet horses Friday, bounced back Saturday with a four-victory afternoon at Golden Gate Fields.

Baze’s forgettable Friday saw him finish second with 8-to-5 favorite Count It All Joy in the fourth race, last aboard 3-to-5 favorite Tall Texan in the fifth, and last aboard
9-to-5 second choice Candy Store in the seventh.

Baze got on track immediately Saturday, winning the first race with the Jerry Hollendorfer-trained Movie Star R. N. ($6.00).  Four races later, Baze and Hollendorfer hooked up again to win the fifth race with Stufdrmsrmadeof ($7.40).

Baze came right back to win the sixth race with 7-to-1 shot Silentcrystalwater ($16.20) and then completed his four-bagger with a victory aboard Legal Separation ($3.60) in the ninth race.  Baze leads all riders at the 2010-2011 meeting with 43 victories.

Golden Gate Fields will celebrate Chinese New Year Sunday with a nine-race card that will feature Chinese-themed entertainment between races, including lion dancers.  Fans attending the races will receive a lucky red envelope containing a mystery mutuel voucher worth from $2 to $500.

General parking, general admission, programs, beers, hot dogs and sodas all cost just $1 Sunday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m.
