Antares World Slight Favorite In Work The Crowd Stakes

     Antares World has been made a slight favorite over U R All That I Am in the $50,000 Work the Crowd Stakes at Golden Gate Fields Saturday.

     Golden Gate Fields price maker Richard Somers tabbed Antares World as the 9-to-5 morning line favorite in the Work the Crowd, a one-mile turf contest for fillies and mares bred in California.  U R All That I Am is the 2-to-1 second choice in the field of six.

     Antares World, a 4-year-old filly owned and bred by Mr. and Mrs. Larry D. Williams, will be seeking her third career stakes win.  Trained by Steve Specht, Antares World posted victories in the California Oaks and Golden Poppy Stakes at Golden Gate Fields last year.

     Antares World has finished in the money in 12 of her 17 career starts and has earned $312,848.  A daughter of Decarchy, Antares World finished second in the Grade 1 American Oaks at Hollywood Park last year.

     U R All That I Am, a 5-year-old mare from the barn of leading trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, has claimed victory in nine of her 23 lifetime starts and tops the Work the Crowd field in earnings with $374,229.  

     U R All That I Am owns four stakes victories, including a win on the turf in the Fran’s Valentine Stakes at Hollywood Park last year.  A chestnut daughter of Valid Wager, U R All That I Am is owned by her breeders, Tommy Town Thoroughbreds LLC.  

     The field for the Work The Crowd, in post position order with riders and morning-line odds, is as follows: U R All That I Am, Kevin Krigger, 2-to-1; Point Of Reference, Inoel Beato, 9-to-2; Antares World, Frank Alvarado, 9-to-5; Strawberry Tart, Francisco Duran, 4-to-1; Ms. G. I. Jane, Aaron Gryder, 12-to-1; and Ruffled Feathers, Julien Couton,
8-to-1.  All of the starters will carry 122 pounds.

    The Work The Crowd is the third race on a nine-race program that begins at 12:45 p.m.
