Alvarado Records Riding Triple

Frank Alvarado capitalized on some live mounts to record a riding triple Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.

Alvarado won the second race with 3-1 second choice Darling Ciana ($8.20), the fifth with heavy 3-5 favorite Best Be Gone ($3.20), and the sixth with 8-5 favorite Galitzianer ($5.20).

Alvarado is third in the jockey standings with 74 victories through 85 days of racing at the 2011-2012 winter/spring meeting.

Jockey Abel Cedillo won two races and both were turf events.  Cedillo captured the fourth race with Anniversary Girl ($3.20) and the eighth with Teddy the Bear ($28.40).

Trainers Steve Sherman and Jerry Hollendorfer both saddled a pair of winners.  Sherman teamed with Alvarado for the victories with Darling Ciana and Best Be Gone.
Hollendorfer hooked up with Cedillo for the win with Anniversary Girl and also took the seventh race with Fortunate Appeal ($3.80).

Racing will resume at Golden Gate Fields Thursday.  Post time is 1:15 p.m.
