Ain’t No Other Favored In Sprint Feature At GGF

Ain’t No Other, the third-place finisher in the Grade 3 Morvich Handicap at Santa Anita, is a 6-to-5 morning line favorite in Friday’s sprint feature at Golden Gate Fields.

The six-furlong allowance event is the third race on an eight-race program that begins at 12:45 p.m.  Post time for the third race is 1:48 p.m.

The Morvich was contested at “about” 6 1/2 furlongs down Santa Anita’s famed hillside turf course and Ain’t No Other was only beaten one length by winner California Flag.

Ain’t No Other has won two stakes this year – the Harry Henson at Hollywood Park and the Livermore Valley Wines at Pleasanton – and was disqualified from victory in another.  Ain’t No Other crossed the wire first in the Jess Jackson Owners Handicap at Santa Rosa but was disqualified from first and placed third for drifting out in the stretch and causing interference.

Ain’t No Other, trained by Steve Miyadi and owned by Tommy Town Thoroughbreds LLC, has six wins and four thirds in 11 career starts.  A 3-year-old gelding by Old Topper, Ain’t No Other has earned $214,243.

The field for Friday’s main event, in post position order, is as follows: Soldiers Point, Inoel Beato rides at 116 pounds, 10-to-1; Tribesman, Abel Cedillo, 118, 9-to-2; Ain’t No Other, Juan Hernandez, 116, 6-to-5; Live Sundays, Frank Alvarado, 118, 5-to-1; Hexbreaker, Kevin Krigger, 120, 3-to-1; and Street Car, Russell Baze, 118, 8-to-1.
