2011 Alameda County Fair Meeting At Pleasanton Runs Through July 10
Fans at Golden Gate Fields can watch and wager via simulcast on all the action from the stakes-stuffed Alameda County Fair meeting at Pleasanton. The 13-day session runs from Thursday, June 23, through Sunday, July 10, and will feature six $50,000-added stakes for thoroughbreds.
Racing at Pleasanton will be conducted on a Thursday-through-Sunday schedule, with a special holiday program on Monday, July 4. Post time is 1:15 p.m. throughout the meeting.
The following stakes will be run at Pleasanton: the Alameda County Fillies and Mares Handicap, a 1 1/16-mile race for distaffers on Saturday, June 25; the Livermore Valley Wine Stakes, a six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds on Friday, July 1; the Juan Gonzalez Memorial Stakes, a 5 1/2-furlong dash for 2-year-old fillies on Saturday, July 2; the Alamedan Handicap, a 1 1/16-mile test for 3-year-olds and up on Monday, July 4; the Everett Nevin Alameda County Stakes, a 5 1/2-furlong sprint for 2-year-olds on Saturday, July 9; and the Sam J. Whiting Memorial Handicap, a six-furlong contest for
3-year-olds and up on Sunday, July 10.
The top jockeys and trainers who regularly compete at Golden Gate Fields, including Hall of Famers Russell Baze and Jerry Hollendorfer, will be in action at the Alameda County Fair.
