‘Front-Runner Friday’ Promotion At GGF Will Offer Free Admission To Bandwagon Giants Fans

Now that the San Francisco Giants are officially out of the playoffs, Golden Gate Fields will offer people that openly admit they were bandwagon fans of the 2010 World Series champions with free admission to the races Friday.

The “Front-Runner Friday” promotion provides free general admission to any patron that walks up to the admission gates and states, “I was a front-running Giants fan.”  Golden Gate Fields will also give two Turf Club passes to any fan that donates an item of Giants apparel – such as T-shirt, sweatshirt or even a Panda hat – to Golden Gate Fields’ clothing drive that will benefit a local charity.

Golden Gate Fields will present an eight-race card Friday and post time is 12:45 p.m.

Shudacudawudya Romps In Feature  --  Shudacudawudya, making his first start since Feb. 17, defeated even-money favorite Tribesman by four lengths in the $41,180 sprint feature Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.

Ridden by Francisco Duran and trained by Lloyd Mason, Shudacudawudya came from just off the pace to win the six-furlong allowance dash in very impressively fashion in a quick 1:09.01.  Tribesman, who owns the Golden Gate Fields track record for six furlongs (1:08.32), easily took second by three lengths over Our Minesweeper.

Shudacudawudya is a very consistent 4-year-old gelding who has five wins, three seconds and  two thirds in 12 career starts.  Owned by Brett Mason, Lloyd’s son, Shudacudawudya earned $25,740 for Sunday’s victory and the payday boosted his earnings to $152,216.
