YOUNG PARIS FAVORED IN SPRINT FEATURE AT GGF
Young Paris, who has never been beaten racing six furlongs, is an 8-to-5 favorite on the morning line to win Saturday’s $32,000 sprint feature at Golden Gate Fields.
Young Paris will face five fellow 3-year-old fillies in the eighth race, a six-furlong allowance dash. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, Young Paris will be ridden by Leslie Mawing.
Young Paris is 3-for-3 in six-furlong contests. A California-bred daughter of Tribunal, Young Paris romped home by seven lengths when she made her career debut in a six-furlong event for $20,000 maiden claimers last September.
Young Paris followed up her maiden score with a game victory in a six-furlong starter allowance race, which she won by a neck. She then completed her sprinting triple with a nice come-from-behind win in a six-furlong allowance race.
Young Paris made her first start around two turns in the 1 1/16-miles California Oaks on Jan. 1 and finished a distant third. In her most recent outing on Jan. 29, Young Paris finished second, beaten a length by Jules J, in a 1 1/16-miles allowance contest.
Young Paris returns to the sprint game Saturday and will face Great Aunt Nora (3-to-1), Moon Quist Rose (7-to-2), Puritan Baker (12-to-1), Roman Lady (6-to-1), and Trapper’s Bounty (5-to-1).
Post time for Saturday’s nine-race program is 12:45 p.m.
