$32,668 PICK SIX CARRYOVER THURSDAY KICKS OFF ‘BIG GAME’ WEEK AT GGF

$32,668 PICK SIX CARRYOVER THURSDAY KICKS OFF ‘BIG GAME’ WEEK AT GGF
A $32,668 Pick Six carryover on Thursday kicks off a busy week at Golden Gate Fields, which will host a “Snow Day” party on Saturday and conduct a “Big Game” raffle for eight flat-screen televisions on Sunday.

Post time is 12:45 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  The track has scheduled a special early post time of 11:15 a.m. Sunday in order to get fans home in time for the start of the Super Bowl.

Thursday’s Pick Six will be held on races three through eight.  A $2 wager, the Pick Six challenges handicappers to pick the winners of six consecutive races.  When no one sweeps all six races, 30 percent of the Pick Six betting pool is paid to those selecting the highest number of winners and the remaining 70 percent of the pool is carried over to the next racing day.

Fans wishing to play the Pick Six should note that post time for the third race is
1:45 p.m.  The third race is a six-furlong maiden allowance dash that attracted a field of six, including Roman Lady, a half-sister to the 7-year-old millionaire Bold Chieftain.  Roman Lady will be making her career debut for trainer William J. Morey, Jr.

Saturday’s “Snow Day” activities will be held from noon to 4 p.m.  Kids, admitted free to Golden Gate Fields, will enjoy a play area that will feature more than 40 tons of snow and a sledding hill.

Eight lucky fans attending Golden Gate Fields Sunday will leave with a new 42-inch flat screen television as the track will raffle off one TV after each of the eight races.  The winning jockey from each race will pluck a ticket out of the contest bin and announce the winner to the crowd.
