Ridden by Frank Alvarado, Shes a Lucky Wager nailed pacesetter Raiding Party on the wire to capture the 1 1/16-miles allowance race by a nose in 1:45.59. Dynamatic finished third, a half-length behind Raiding Party.
Shes a Lucky Wager, at 4-to-1, was the second choice in the betting behind 8-to-5 favorite Raiding Party and paid $10.00. Trained by Steve Specht, Shes a Lucky Wager recorded her eighth victory in 29 career starts.
Shes a Lucky Wager, a 4-year-old daughter of Valid Wager, is owned by Andy and Marilyn Smolich. A California-bred filly, Shes a Lucky Wager earned $24,960 for Sunday’s victory and the paycheck increased her career earnings to $252,220.
Alvarado had a riding hat trick Sunday. In addition to winning the featured seventh race with Shes a Lucky Wager, Alvardo took the sixth race with Country Farmer ($9.60) and the ninth with Izzacopy ($10.40).
