BIG SATURDAY FOR HOLLENDORFER -- Saturday has the potential to be a huge day Hollendorfer. In addition to sending out Chocolate Candy in the Belmont Stakes, “The Dorf” will have charges in three stakes at Hollywood Park – Union Avenue in the $300,000 Charles Whittingham Memorial Handicap, Paul’s Hope in the $100,000 Ack Ack Handicap and Tuscan Evening in the $70,000-added Redondo Beach Stakes.
Assistant trainer Dan Ward is the man in charge of Hollendorfer’s Southern California division and he’ll do the saddling at Hollywood Park while the boss takes care of Chocolate Candy at Belmont Park.
SIERRA SUNSET RUNS SATURDAY -- Sierra Sunset, trained by Jeff Bonde of Pleasanton, will make his return to the races Saturday at Hollywood Park when he competes in the Ack Ack Handicap. The 7 1/2-furlong Ack Ack will be Sierra Sunset’s first race since March 2008, when he captured the Grade 2 Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park.
