BAZE RIDES FOUR WINNERS AT GGF;
EARLY POST FOR HOLIDAY CARD
Jockey Russell Baze, who is closing in on career victory No. 10,000, rode four winners Sunday at Golden Gate Fields.
The winningest jockey in the history of North American horse racing, Baze boosted his victory total to 9,986 with Sunday’s four-bagger. Baze won the second race with Conclave ($3.20), the fifth with My Guy ($4.20), the eighth with Reba Is Tops ($6.00), and the ninth with Include The Grand ($3.80).
Baze tops the Golden Gate Fields jockey standings with 86 victories at the 2007-2008 meeting. Frank Alvarado, who is second in the standings, has 40 wins.
Golden Gate Fields has scheduled a special early post time of 12:15 p.m. for Monday’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Day card. Baze has mounts in six of the eight races on the holiday program.
