FRUMIOUS RECORDS THIRD STRAIGHT WIN

The speedy 2-year-old colt Frumious posted his third straight victory Thursday at Golden Gate Fields when he led his rivals from start to finish in the $37,500 allowance feature.

Trained by Jeff Bonde and ridden by Chris Landeros, Frumious won the one-mile test for 2-year-olds by two lengths over Skimasco in 1:37.59.  Mt. Davidson finished third while 2-to-1 favorite Dave’s Pacemaker checked in fourth.

Frumious, who suffered his only loss when he ran third in the Solano County Juvenile Stakes last summer in his career debut, paid $6.80.  Owned by George and Mary Clare Schmitt, Frumious earned $23,400 Thursday and has banked $77,320 in his four trips to the starting gate.

Bred in California by JayArDee Stables, Frumious is a son of 1996 Kentucky Derby winner Grindstone.

Racing continues at Golden Gate Fields Friday.  Post time is 12:45 p.m. and there is a carryover of $60,146 in the Pick Six.
